The decision to make a defensive change with striker Olivier Giroud and winger Callum Hudson-Odoi still on the bench has not gone down well with Chelsea supporters.
One fan wrote on Twitter: ‘Zappacosta at 2-0 has to go down as the worst substitute by any manager in top-flight football… name me a worse substitute.’

One fan alluded to the fact that Sarri still had two attacking options up his sleeve, writing: ‘Giroud and Hudson-Odoi on the bench, 2-0 down, and Sarri brings on Zappacosta. You can understand why the fans aren’t happy.’
Other supporters suggested that the move to replace Cesar Azpilicueta with Zappacosta was the last straw.

The west London club have suffered three defeats from their last five league games and the defeat to United on Monday night saw them exit the FA Cup.
